Airolit’s Advanced BVLOS Drones Transform CV90 Combat Vehicle Capabilities
As of May 2024, Airolit’s advanced Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drones, featuring a new demonstrator for advanced mission planning in 3D developed by Carmenta, have been integrated into the combat vehicle CV90, boosting its operational capabilities.
Partnering with Carmenta and BAE Systems Hägglunds, Airolit’s autonomous drone technology is revolutionizing the way the CV90 collects and leverages real-time battlefield intelligence.
This innovative integration allows the CV90 to conduct silent, pre-programmed surveillance missions far beyond the operator’s line of sight, greatly extending the vehicle’s sensor range and situational awareness. Airolit’s drones act as a “loyal wingman” to the CV90, enabling faster and more informed decision-making in critical situations.
“As a result of our collaboration, we have demonstrated the effectiveness and reliability of our drones through successful field testing, highlighting their potential to reshape modern military operations. Airolit is proud to be an integral part of this groundbreaking project, marking a significant advancement in the application of drone technology within the defense sector,” says Claes Kjölhede, CEO at Airolit.
