Airolit continues to strengthen its position as a developer of UAV systems in the Nordics. Sales are increasing, and the company is now expanding its team with new hires in both sales and development. The recruitment takes place at a time when the defence industry in West Sweden is growing rapidly, alongside increasing demand for Swedish-developed defence technology.
“The defence industry in West Sweden is growing rapidly – and so are we,” says Claes Kjölhede, CEO of Airolit, and continues:
“We are seeing a clear increase in demand for our solutions, which is also reflected in a sales growth of 43 percent over the past year. To continue developing at the required pace, we are strengthening our organisation.”
The new roles in both sales and development are a deliberate step to strengthen the company’s overall capability, not only to meet current demand, but also to take a clear role in the long-term development of Nordic UAV capability.
“Airolit’s development in recent years is proof that the industry values our solutions. At the same time, we see that there is still significant work to be done – both for us as a company and for the industry as a whole. By expanding our team, we strengthen our ability to continue as a long-term partner to Nordic defence actors.”
A clear offering for operational needs
In recent years, Airolit has further sharpened its focus on defence and expanded its offering with two new UAV systems. Both are flexible and adapted for Arctic conditions, with the ability to integrate different types of sensors and payloads depending on mission requirements.
“We have become clearer and more focused in our offering. Today, we provide payload-flexible UAV systems that can be configured based on mission needs. Our platform is modular and designed to be adapted to different use cases, which we have further developed and refined over time.”
Airolit is actively working with both product development and innovation within the UAV domain, with the ambition of building long-term Nordic capability in unmanned systems. The company’s growth reflects a broader development within the defence sector, where requirements for reliability, adaptability, and local development are becoming increasingly important.
“Our strength lies in combining technical expertise with an understanding of the real conditions of Nordic defence. We are seeing growing demand for reliable, locally developed UAV solutions, and we are determined to take a leading role in that development.”
Looking ahead, Airolit sees continued expansion as a natural step in line with both market demand and the company’s long-term ambitions.
